SUMMARY:Phil Armstrong in Conversation with Bill Mitchell
DESCRIPTION:Registration will begin at 12.15 pm for a prompt start at 12.30 pm\nGIMMS is delighted to present Phil Armstrong in conversation with Bill Mitchell. We invite you to join us for this informal event which we are sure will be both stimulating and insightful. \nPhil is a strong advocate of the need for pluralism in economics and believes MMT provides powerful insights into the way the economy works and how progressive economic policy can be put into practice. In conversations with key thinkers Phil\, in his new book\, to be published in November\, ‘Can Heterodox Economics Make a Difference’ sheds light upon the behaviour of economists and the sociology of the economics profession. He is an Associate Member of GIMMS \nBill Mitchell\, Professor of Economics at the University of Newcastle\, New South Wales\, Australia and a leading proponent of Modern Monetary Theory has written extensively in the fields of macroeconomics\, econometrics and public policy including his jointly authored books Reclaiming the State\, and recently published university textbook Macroeconomics. Bill is also one of GIMMS’ Advisory Board Members. \nRegister here \n
