If there are Children in Need, whether its children in poverty, needing practical support for physical or mental health conditions, or indeed anything that challenges their ability to live fulfilling lives, then it should be gvt that funds it, not charitable ./

All in it together. IMF gives seal of approval to Rachel Reeves budget. Tax rises will boost growth sustainably it claims. Just how? What is the logic? None of it makes any sense. A world in which a balanced budget is more important than people's lives.

It’s good to see a politician who understands the economy correctly.
A govt deficit = the private sector surplus.
A govt surplus = a private sector deficit.
What government with any sense would deliberately impoverish the private sector, deprive it of money?
Austerity kills.

If you don’t want the government to issue tradable debt instruments (such as gilts) , then advocate for them to stop doing that. Not for reduced government spending.
