The Gower Initiative for Modern Money Studies is launching on Friday 5 October! This new venture offers a UK portal for new writings and academic studies which will build on the foundations of the international movement for a better understanding of how our state money system works. This perspective offers a lens for examining the economic policy options open to government to manage the planet’s real resources for economic, environmental and social well-being and moves away from a limited vision of government finances as a household budget.
The afternoon event is in two halves. Registration for the launch is from 12.30 for a 13.00 start. The second half is two seminars given by Professor Bill Mitchell, a leading proponent of Modern Monetary Theory. The first will be an introduction to Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) and the second will look specifically at the Job Guarantee. Both will be followed by a Q&A. Registration is from 1600 onwards for a 1630 start.
There are a limited number of places. The launch is free, seminars have a nominal charge of £7.50. Booking is separate for the two sessions. Refreshments will be available.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite
